Liptov hosted 3 stages in 2012. Two stages started and finished in Liptov (including a spectacular finish in Neznáma) and then the riders left Liptov starting the stage in Liptov.

Tatry Tour
A popular 197 km road cycling marathon crossing also the Liptov region. The cyclists ride around the High Tatras crossing Poland. Poland. Annually around 300 riders finished the hilly race.

Footsteps of the writer Martin Rázus
A road cycling event, honour to Martin Rázus, a great Slovak politician and writer. A route starts in the place of birth in Liptovský Mikuláš continueing to places Rázus acted in (Brezno, Banská Bystrica) and finishing in Liptovský Mikuláš.

Duathlon of Žiar :: a favourite event of skiers, cyclists and runners taking place in Žiar valley. Starting at the beginning of valley, change in hut and running to the seat of valley. A 2011 race poster and profile below.

Ružomberok: Smrekovica 1372 m.a.s.l.
A mountain bike event taking place close to city of Ružomberok. Bikers start in village Podsuchá 560 m.a.s.l., climbing 8 km to Smrekovica 1372 m.a.s.l by mountainbikes. The race is as spectacular as steep (even 13 % climb).

Go best as you can :: a spectacular uphill run, taking place in stone-pit of Bobrovec. In 2011 160 runners started at the beginning of valley in 820 m.a.s.l., running 3,7 km to the hut Chata po Náružím in 1450 m.a.s.l.
